"It's in gods hands"

I was just pondering this saying again and it occurred to me that it doesn't matter how we treat our bodies because as they say it's in gods hands by their logic. I guess that means smoking, obesity and other life choices don't matter because your death is ultimately decided. Maybe that's why all the religious nuts I'm surrounded by in Alabama (temporarily for 1 year and 7 more months) all smoke and are obese; they truly believe these things won't affect them...
