No info from Doctor, HELP 🆘

I'm 18 and used condoms as my only birth control up until a month ago. So about a month ago the condom broke during sex which left me having to take the morning after pill. Having never had to take it before I was unsure where to get it so I made an appointment to see a doctor who prescribed it to me. He also prescribed me the contraceptive pill Rigevidon without discussing anything about the pill to me (side effects etc.) He literally gave me no information whatsoever about the pill and just said to start it on the last day of my cycle. I've recently seen a few horror stories about the effects of taking Rigevidon and wondered if anyone recommends a different birth control pill???
