Is it rude to list your registry on a pregnancy announcement card

So I got a pregnancy announcement from a friend a few months ago. It listed where they were registered and said "thank you in advance for your support of our little one". She had a shower but keep in mind this was not an invitation and I was not invited to the shower. I thought it was kinda rude like "I want you to know I'm pregnant and want a present from you but I don't want to see you and celebrate with you." So I was wondering what you ladies thought, rude or no?
