Women who don't change last name, what do kids get?

I am not looking to debate whether females should change their last names or not, I'm looking for opinions on what to do for the kids last names if she didn't change her last name. What are your guys opinions or experiences?
*Ps split would be a few kids have wife's a few kids have husband's, so siblings with different last names.

If the parents don't share the same last name, then I would recommend all kids get mom's maiden name. I've seen kids be embarrassed when they and their siblings have different last names- makes folks who don't know the story raise an eyebrow as to the character of the mom.

In our culture the kids carries the fathers last name, being married to him of course!

My parents gave me my moms last name and were planning on having a second child with my dad's last name but it never happened.

I may keep my last name when we get married I haven't decided yet lol but if I do I'll give the kids their dads last name. My mom and dad weren't married when they had me and I still got my dads last name. It's obviously each couples preference though.

I wanted to keep my name but it is important to him that our kids have his family name. I don't want us to look like a blended family when we're not though so our kids will have my last name as a second middle name. E.g. Nathan Benjamin Browm King.

As much as a hyphenated name makes sense, it's no fun at all! My parents gave me 2 first names, my mothers maiden name as second, and my fathers family name, with only spaces (no hypens) on my birth certificate. I was born in British Columbia... Fast forward to 10 days of life when my parents went back to Québec and registered me there for all the legal paperwork ... The state hyphenate everything!!! So now I legally carry 4 names, hyphens and all. It legit SUCKS.
My SO and I are not married, probably never will, and are actively TTC. Our children will carry only his name, and it's all good. Doesn't bother me one bit... I know who's vajayjay our babies will pop out of 🙃

You're wrongly assuming that just because a woman kept her name, her husband kept his name too. I kept my name and my husband changed his.

It's hard for me to comment because I always wanted to change my last name to my husband's and that's what I did when I got married. However, my preference would be for the kids to all have the same name - either the dad's name or the mom and dad's name hyphenated.
