BFP after HSG- Don't trust OPK kits!!!

So, on Dec 28th I had a HSG where they push dye thru your tubes to check for blockages. It was CD 7, and boy was that painful. I started with OPK on day 8 as my cycles are usually 26-28 days. NEVER got a positive OPK, just faint test lines that disappeared and reappeared. I bought a 2nd kit when I still hadn't gotten that positive- took that whole weeks worth too, same deal, no positive. My dr. advised that the HSG showed that my right tube was blocked and we set up an appointment for a laporoscopic surgery to see if he could unblock it.

At my pre-op appt on Tues., I told him that I still hadn't gotten my period and was a couple days late, he told me that I could be PG as the HSG sometimes causes increased fertility, but the UPT in his office was negative 😕. Had pre-op at surgery center the following day, and they also did UPT that was negative. 3 days later, still no period, of course I'm not shocked bc I didn't ovulate, right? Clearly the HSG messed up my cycle, right? Well, just to be sure, I buy UPT this afternoon and guess what folks... My ego is preggo!!! Three tests have confirmed it!

How can this be? I've relied on OPKs every month, and I didn't test positive this cycle? Well, would you just look at that very positive test? Ladies, don't get discouraged, it will happen at just the right time, and apparently when you least expect it. DONT rely on OPKs alone, make sure to BD every chance you get!!!
