Negative?

Hi. I've been feeling off. I was supposed to get my AF yesterday but I only had dark brown spotting for a few hours mid morning then it stopped completely. Today the same thing happened, except the blood was pale pink to brown. I took a test and it looks negative. I normally have a heavy period that last for 6 days, so this is very different for me. I'm extremely crampy too. Any ideas ladies?
