Depo shot

Okay so I'm on the depo shot and you're supposed to get them every 3 months. Mine is mainly for my period because they're absolutely terrible. Now my period aleays starts back up at the 2 1/2 month mark. And I don't really get a break from it until I get my shot again. Do you think it would be okay to get my shot every 2 1/2 months instead of 3?
