Censoring

I am recently pregnant and like a lot of pregnant women I look to forums like glow for advice and support during this crazy and exciting time in my life. One thing I've noticed on this and a number of other pregnancy resource sites is that a lot of women censor the word vagina. I've seen many variations including v--ina, v*gina, ect... This actually really bothers me because I believe that as women, and especially as pregnant women, we shouldn't be so ashamed/uncomfortable with that part of our body to the point where we feel like we can't even type its scientific and medical name without censorship. Has anyone else noticed this and do you find it as troubling as I do?
