Cloth diapers?

Question

Seeing so many posts so I'm curious how they work. Seems like much more time involved since you'd have to empty the poop and throw in the machine constantly no? Trying to find the most sanitary and best option for our baby. Why do some prefer cloth to disposable? Seems like disposable might be more sanitary but I'm new to this. Haha

1. It's super cost effective.. 200$ will take us from birth to potty training..
2. Its really not as bad as it sounds.. We are supposed to flush solid debris from disposables but no one does.. 
3. Its just another load of laundry that gets washed.. Nothing over scientific about it..
4. It's good for babies with sensitive skin who are prone to chemical burns from disposables..
5. From my experience they leak way less.
6. We never run out of diapers.. 
7. They sell and trade really well
8. Can be used for next babies
9. Toddlers can feel when they are wet better and make potty training easier.. 
10. Did i mention it saves a TON of money..

Just a few of my reasoning.. And yes it's better for the environment..

I had to buy some to fully understand how they work. I think they're a great concept. I'll be using both. I think having cloth is better for baby's skin and the environment. But I definitely don't want to make things harder then they need to be. So I'll be using disposable when I need to 😉 I think a mixture of both will work well.

I cloth and love it. My babies butt is never red. The cleaning the poop out thing is not a big deal, your supposed to do that with disposables as well. People just never do cuz of laziness or lack of knowledge about it. I do a load of diapers every other day. It's not a big deal for me. I got 40+ pocket diapers plus inserts for under $100 that will last from 10lbs- 36lbs so until they are potty trained. They are a bit bulky but I love my fluff butt! Less trash too!

For me it wasn't more work than disposable.  I would empty poo into the toilet and then soiled liners went into the wash bin, which was a plastic container with a lid, until I was ready to wash.  I washed the liners and waterproof snap ins every other day, covers were washed with regular laundry.  The covers rarely got nasty.  It cost me about $250 for all of dd's cloth diapers.  We used gDiapers.

My SIL got them for my nephew and what they do is use the cloth diapers while at home and disposable diapers when out and about so they can just change him and throw away I think if you do it like that it wouldn't be so bad. Now that I am expecting my first I think I will just stick to the disposable diapers since I don't do laundry everyday

This is a list of chemicals in disposable diapers.

We chose them not only because they are better for babies bottom but they are also better for the environment. It's worth it for the cost as well. Our method we chose will be $150 birth-potty training. We are using prefolds and covers.

I love them. I have a large stash so only wash twice a week at most! Once baby gets table food (not exclusively nreadtfed) you just dump poo in toilet before throwing diaper in a wet bag or laundry pail, then throw pail liner or wet bag in washer with diapers. After three kids they've saved us thousands of dollars, I love never having to run to the store bc were out of diapers or adding $20-40 on my grocery bill every visit, and I love how cute they are! Plus when we're done I can sell them!!
