Plus Size Natural Birth??

Question

Natural unmedicated birth stories are not all that common, and so hearing any success stories of a plus size natural birth is even more rare. I am starting my hypnobirthing classes on Saturday, so I am hoping to be one of these "great white buffalo" stories... 😂  Can anyone share a great experience?

My midwife is a big lady and she had 7 babies at home. When I told her I was concerned because I'm not small and afraid I wasn't in shape for a natural birth, she said, "You don't push the baby out with your legs." It is good to walk to have the stamina to go through it, but you don't have to be athletic or a special weight.

I never heard that plus size unmedicated births are rare! Half the moms I know from the natural birth community where I am are plus size. I remember when my two little bros were born at home, and my mom wasn't small. Your body is made for this!

Haha I don't mean a huge baby. I say "great white buffalo" because of the seeming rarity of the successful unmedicated plus size birth.

I don't know about great, or huge babies, but my mom had a VBAC with my little brother. Delivered him naturally at 42 weeks, a little over nine pounds. It took a long time for him to come out, but he did and she got to catch him and she says it was way better than her c section.
