Birth control??? Help?

Ok so I have never been in a relationship or had sex so there has been no need for me to be on birth control. However now that I'm 19, in college at that, it's very likely to happen. I know some birth controls cause weight gain??? Most of my friends are on the a pill. What birth control are you guys taking and what are the side effects? What do you recommend?
