My experience w/ Cervidil

I had my daughter on 12-29-15. So it's been a minute but for anyone whose doctor wants them to go in the night before their inducement for cervidil, I wanted to share my experience. This was my first time giving birth. I got to the hospital at 7:30 pm the night before. They inserted the cervidil to soften my cervix & were going to start pitocin 12 hours later. About an hour passed & I was getting period cramps, this is working great. Okay. So another hour goes by. I was in excruciating pain. Contractions every 3 minutes. I call the nurse explaining to her that I was in too much pain for just softening the cervix. She brushed it off & said it's normal. So for another hour I lay there in horrible pain. Crying. Sweating. Contractions every 2 minutes at this point. I got my fiancé to call my mom who is in a hotel down the road to come in because I hurt so bad. I guess with me being on the side of the bed slumped over from pain, my monitors weren't working so the nurse came back in & agreed to give me pain meds through IV. They had to check for dilation for protocol. She gasped & said "oh wow you're at a 6 & completely thinned out" i was a 1 when I came in & not thinned at all. I was in so much pain & so aggravated I yelled out, no shit I've been trying to tell you something's wrong! I'm not generally that rude to nurses, I'm a CNA myself. Anyway, I had to wait another 30 minutes for my epidural & start my bags of antibiotics for my gbs. After that, it took me about 3 hours to get to 10. I lost my bloody show & they broke my water. Unfortunately, they didn't know babygirl was sideways with her arms above her head until I was 10cm & ready to push so I had an emergency c-section. My reason for posting this is if you do go in for the cervidil & you're in tons of pain, request the nurse to check you. Apparently from what I was told, it's not too common that cervidil knocks you into labor. It was a very short, intense labor. I know a lot of women have natural births & I shouldn't complain because they're badasses. I wasn't prepared for it to hurt so much though! but I'd go through it all again for my babygirl :)
