Sex after miscarriage (a little TMI)

I was 6 weeks when I had my 2nd miscarriage. I'm no longer passing tissue but I am still bleeding about 3 tablespoons worth, not filling a pad. My husband and I are ready to have sex again, we're not trying to conceive again just yet. But I've seen articles that say we need to wait for my cervix to close. Since I'm not passing tissue or having cramps anymore is it possible my cervix has closed and we can do the deed again?
