Insurance?

I noticed today that my doctor's office hasn't billed my insurance for any of my prenatal care. I am nearly 36 weeks. Is this normal? We have great insurance. I am really nervous about getting a huge bill in the mail.

No this is not normal. I was a patient account representative for 3 years for one of the biggest hospitals in the US. MOST insurance companies only accept claims 90 days from date of service. I cant speak for all insurance companys, but the longest filing date (in this state) is 120 days, and that is for Medicare patients   I would definitely bring this up with your doctors office ASAP.

Yes it can be normal. Some obys  will bill under a global period.. that means they will bill your entire care on the sate of delivery for that date of service. For example..my baby is due in April. .all my visits leading up to that will be billed with the April date of service and will all be applied to my 2016 deductible :). Hope that helps

Make sure that your insurance covers prenatal care and if so I'd ask my doc about it. Bc I wouldn't want that bill either as far along as you are now.

Most pregnancies are billed globally the day baby is born. That's how my midwife works. I'm kinda frustrated about it because I'm due in July and our insurance resets so we'll have to pay nearly all of the cost out of pocket (still on my dad's insurance and the deductible is insanely high!)

I haven't received any EOBs but I have tricare standard so they might cover 100% after my deductible is met but I am not sure.
