Induced- & ended up with a C-Section?

Question

Just curious how many mommies were induced and ended up having to have a Caesarian vs. a vaginal delivery? I've just been stuck on this for a while. What are the odds? I know relying on a birth plan is the last thing an expecting mom should do because it almost never goes as planned. So I'm wondering how often this occurs... Lol

**Also want to know how quick recovery was for either type of delivery. When were you able to get moving around to normal ADLs?

I got induced at 38+5 because 'size of baby' estimated weight at 36+5 was 9lb4oz, laboured for 63 hours in AGONY, ended with a csection, in the end he was born at 7lb1oz, I had a tough recovery, I was up walking about the next day, but within 2 weeks the inside of my abdomen got infected so it was a long tough recovery.

In my experience if you have to be induced do it past your due date, never get induced because size of baby because scans are not 100% accurate especially the further along you get.

Overdue to 40+10. Went into hospital feeling unwell, headaches, swollen hands and feet. They hooked me up and said I was contracting, that I must be able to feel them...nope! Said baby wasn't recovering as they'd expect after contractions.  Started induction with gel. Nothing happened. Gel again the next day. Nothing much happened. Sent my husband home and bam contractions all through the night but they didn't get him back in as I wasn't in proper labour enough. Well it was proper enough for me! Pain wasn't too bad but I still wanted company and everything we'd practiced in our antenatal classes. Waters broke and nobody believed me until pad shoved in faces! So drip induction the following afternoon. Wow. I'd been have contractions at 119 and coped fine but on the drip at 127 I was in agony. Knew something didn't feel right. Back to back baby with very large head, just felt grinding bones. The 6 hours in was all I could take so had an epidural. 6 hours later wheeled down for an emergency section. The whole thing was traumatic and meant a 5 night hospital stay with no sleep. Was very ill for a long time afterwards. Sorry- I'm one of the unlucky ones. My friends waters had gone and she was induced and had no problems at all and a quick labour. Everyone is different. I will be having an elective section this time as I cannot come to terms with it happening again. Would so love a natural birth but doctors feel I'm better to go for an elective and I'm not arguing! Hoping to have a positive experience this time.

I've been induced twice. Vaginally deliveries both times. My first I had a infection and ended up in the ER. My second was a speedy recovery with no problems. 😉

I was medically induced due to uncontrolled PIH. And it was very close to a cesarean. The pitocin made babies heartrate keep dropping and she wasn't recovering, she also had meconium, cord around her neck and then as I was pushing her shoulder became lodged in my pelvis! Then her heart really dropped so there wasn't even time to move to the OR. My OB just basically stuck her hand in and grabbed my daughters shoulders and ripped her out. My husband and I are still traumatized!!! I'm going to fight tooth and nail against an induction even if it's medically necessary for me. It was such a traumatic day for us!
