Valentine's Day

Is it ok to celebrate Valentine's Day the day before with your SO? Sunday is just such an awkward day where we get everything for the new week done and I don't want people giving us crap for celebrating the day before. We're also going out of town for a night the weekend after because our anniversary is the 19th. Is this ok or no? I've never done the whole Valentine's Day thing.
