Cleaning penis?

Sometimes I see white stuff around my sons penis. My bf said it's from the diaper and to just leave it. But I feel like I should clean it off. Ftm here. Thoughts?

My sons pediatrician said to always clean this, he said its like some type of dead skin cells or something and he said to make sure to clean it off at least once a day.

You can wipe it off with each diaper change! So it doesn't crust up and get irritating

You can clean but don't ever push the foreskin back to clean. Oddly enough, they are still healing and growing. You don't want to cause an adhesion.

That is a buildup of dead skin cells, possible ointment residue, diaper/wipe particles, and possible fecal/urinal matter all mixed together and called smegma:). Adult men get it too if they don't or aren't able to properly cleanse the area. Just clean it off gently. Gross, but at least your baby is cute to make up for having to clean his 'smeggies' !!

Do not pull the foreskin back!!! You could hurt his penis! Just wipe it gently with a baby wipe.

For clarity. If your baby is not circumcised NEVER pull back the foreskin. You could seriously harm him. I have no idea about circumcised baby because we did not do that.

my son gets it as well n my husband says the same thing. i clean it anyway n remind him that unlike adults babys cant cleaning themselves or tell us what's wrong so its up to us to make sure they are clean n healthy
