Is this a serious relationship?

I have been dating a guy for 4 months. We are still in high school and each live with our families, however I'm not from around here and he is. Although my closest family is hundreds of miles away he knows more of them and more about them than I know of his. I have been introduced to all three of his stepbrothers but nothing more. I shook hands and he pulled me away to hang out. I have never spoken to anyone other than his stepmom about her problems or his dad about archery. I love my boyfriend, but I don't know if I'm missing an important sign here I guess. If anyone has any advice or has been in a similar situation I would love to hear about it. Thanks!
