Plus size mommy passed the glucose test -- say what?!?!

This whole pregnancy I have been treated a bit different since I'm overweight and I have to laugh because I am passing everything they throw at me with flying colors. I know they take these precautions for my best interest, but I can't help but gloat a little when they assume I'm gonna fail because of my size. Even being plus size, I have always been extremely healthy!

Im right there with ya, im plus size with perfect blood pressure, sugar, all my blood work has always been great,,,,i actually eat very healthy 90% of the time and always have, i do have pcos however

Yeah, I've always been underweight and assumed I would pass because I thought diabetes was more common if you're  overweight. This is my 4th pregnancy and I only passed with my first. I currently have GD for the third time lol it's all about how your pregnant self processes sugar. Congrats mama!

I have done the same with my 3 prevouse pregnancies and so far with with this one, I was told Iam high risk of diabetes big babies hard labour and difficult delivery high blood pressure (preaclapsia) u name it they said I would most probably get them because Iam over weight and family medical history well I just laugh at them now as I have the most easiest pregnancies and labours all my girls we 7 pounders with no complications at all even conceiving was easy and I planed my babies birthdays down to the month I want them born I also have Polisistic overies I am just very blessed and tiny women can also have all these problems, I can be prof that weight dosnt always effect your pregnacies

Thankfully my doctor has never treated me differently.

I also passed my glucose test, my bp is usually great- but it has been a little wonky this time- and everything else has been going smoothly!

Weight is only part of the equation. Health is so much more than that.

My dr has not treated me different except telling me I need to watch my weight but blood pressure is normal..I failed my glucose test by three points so I gotta go back and take three hours

You're giving me hope. :) my 2 friends that have had gestational diabetes are skinny though... so I guess it's doesn't mean anything

I'm the same way! They made me take a glucose test at like 12 weeks... I passed it with flying colors... I have to take another one Monday.... Hopefully I'll pass it too!!!

I passed my glucose test and blood pressure is always normal. My dr has never treated me any differently though

Amen!!! I passed mine when everyone thought I was going to fail and my blood pressure was a little high once at a doctors appointment (only after they basically made me do laps around the office before)
