Good vehicle for teenage parents?

We are on a tight budget, I am still in highschool while my boyfriend is graduated already. We have a son and quite a long commute to work until we move (about 30 minutes). We want something that's reliable safe. Of course we are going to buy used, but what are good types of cars to look for? 🙂

Honda cr-v or I've had a really good time with a 2009 hhr it's ugly, but it's literally more reliable than anything I've ever seen

Talk to a service manager or mechanic about what they see the most. My dad is a mechanic and anytime I have ever looked for a car that's who I see first.

A car where there are air bags everywhere including the back seats. I would also do your own research prior to see what cars have what issues and are the most reliable and safe. I would also look for a sturdy good material car not cheap plastic that crushes easily in an accident. I wouldn't trust the salesman because they want to get a sale try getting as much advice and do much research before you go! Good luck ❤️

Look for a car with more air bags. Look at other safety reviews for the type of vehicle you like. The smaller the car the more dangerous it is if in an accident
