hi, I'm thinking about going on birth control (not wanting the pill) and I have been doing research on getting the contraceptive implant. Just wanting your thoughts/opinions/experiences with it✨

Try the mirena iud . It's painless works really well . You period all but  disappears . & if you change your mind, it's easily removed & period returns with in a week

I got the implant in September 2015. This is the only type of bc I've used and I'll give an honest description of my experience.

The procedure is pretty easy, the only uncomfortable part is the anesthesia. You're arm will bruise slightly or more depending on yourself. It might be sore for a couple of days. It's very effective and lasts for three years. Those were the main pros why I chose it. The only known side effects are irregular bleeding and it's true. From most other posts I've read a lot of women have experienced this. It's more annoying than anything. The periods are much lighter and easier than normal ones.

I just came up on my expiration date after three years for me I didn't like it I bled a lot like two to three times a month but my doctor also told me it was chance I wouldn't get a period at all so it's really based on how your body reacts to it.
