Do you agree or disagree

Question

So me and my so were babysitting for his mother and we were going to clean the house for her, so I asked him to mop after I swept and help do dishes, then he goes and says "that's a woman's job, I'll take out the garbage " in a jokingly manner. 
Then I told him there are no gender specific chores, and I ending up bribing him to help out, I know he was kinda joking but what do you think about that idea?

Gender roles in a family/relationship are a personal preference. Some people have no problem with and expect the traditional roles, others do some but not all and others do not believe in any.

In my household it is 2016 and both of us work full time so chores are shared. If he wants me to spend all day cooking, cleaning and looking pretty then he needs to make it so I don't have to work...

My husband works 60-70 hours a week while I stay home with our son and am pregnant with #2. My only expectation is that he takes the trash out. I understand why some women have issues with similar roles. However, his job is outside of the house so it only makes sense for me to keep up with the inside duties. It works for us and helps to provide balance and a sense of teamwork. It doesn't bother me at all. I love watching his face light up when he comes home to a clean house and dinner on the table. And I'm sure he loves how much I appreciate how hard he works for us. Every family is different of course. As long as everyone is on the same page, there isn't a right or wrong.

This just depends on the couple. We both work full time. I work even a little extra. We are having our third baby. I tend to do the more "female chores." I'm the cook. I cook homemade every night. I also tend to do most traditional cleaning. My husband takes care of the animals, takes out the garbage, and handles the other construction and home reno. We do a lot of home reno. He does the plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. I do the painting. I do most of the gardening, but he mows the grass and shovels the snow. It's what works for us. We do what we are best at. It just so happens I'm better at the more "traditional" female roles.

We both work fulltime. I clean more because I like a clean house.. He grew up in a messy house and doesn't even notice (which irks me)...but he would never say "that's a woman's job", he just says "oh, it looks clean to me?" (Even though its not)

We do things equally in our house.  I usually do most of the housework since he works about twice as many hours as me. But I will admit since I've been pregnant he's been doing the majority of it and I'm so thankful for that. Either way though there is no woman or man's job in our house, when something needs to get done, whichever one of us gets to it first does it.
