What is the best kind of birth control?

My friend Brandy is on the Depo shot and I think she had her twins about 3 years ago. I am currently working on finding the best birth control out there. I was on the pill called Sprintec and I hated how it made me feel like jittery and weight gain so I've stopped birth control completely for about 3 years now.

My fiancé and I have made the decision to not have kids until I have completed school and finish my second degree this summer. He is 33 and I am 23. We live together and have our own place. He doesn't think I should go on the pill but I would like to  get back on something until I am ready to have a child later down the road.

Just seeking other birth control out there and if you could tell me about it that would be lovely.

NEXPLANON!!!!! Hands down. Do not do intrauterine birth controls. I know it works for some women, and that's awesome! But it can be very dangerous and I advise staying away if you can. Nexplanon goes in your arm, and has a less than .05% failure rate, right below abstinence. The only sort of side effects that can happen are irregular spotting during the 3-6 months after but then your period stops. I seriously swear by it. It lasts three years, and my insurance paid for EVERY CENT.

I used to be on the pill. I think the pill is a better option for women that can remember to take it. That way there's no surgery or scars if something goes wrong/ you don't like your bodies reaction to it. There's many different types of the pill so you could always look into them and their side effects and pick the best for you. Personally I now do natural family planning. It requires you to be very in touch with your body though which can be a struggle for some. You track your ovulation every month ( avoid sex during that time) and always use condoms + the pull out method (while wearing the condom just to be safe) no one can tell you what's best for you but I personally hated being on hormonal birth control and what it did to my body that's why I made the switch. If I ever decide to go back on it I will still stick with the pill because I'd feel like I have more control over it.

I prefer the pill as long as you remember to take it every day. I have a 8pm alarm to take mine. I have tried the patch (i hated having the sticky goop on my skin and it never stayed on through my hot showers),  i like the 2 iuds except skyla,  but the way my cervix is placed my exs could tap the strings and sometimes it hurt me when it happened. I also have tried condoms we all know how that goes lol. And i tried the pull out method and i had more success with the pull out method then any thing else.
