Should I be a sahm or go back to work??

Question

Does anyone ever regret quitting their job? I'm so torn I love being here for my son he'll be 5 months soon. I got 22 weeks of maternity leave so I have to decide if I'm going back asap. We will be very tight each month on one income as I make more than my husband but it can be done. Daycare is $190 a week here which is crazy. My son is also kind of difficult in that he has to nurse to sleep even for naps and I can rarely put him down for 10 mins without him crying. So I can't imagine what daycare would do to him. But part of me really wants a break some days and that's selfish I suppose. Any tips or opinions to help decide?

Don't get me wrong I love my kids, but I miss working. I need a break! And plus I feel like I'm not contributing to the household and my SO is stuck paying all the bills. I think it's a discussion to have with ur spouse and see if u can make ends meet staying home, or if u would feel better about working. Me not working has put me in a depression. Good luck

Im able to quit my job and be a SAHM cause of the business I'm in. I'm actually needing 2 accountability partners to run this business with! If you can have fun & be dedicated I would love to personally mentor you with 1 on 1 live video trainings, etc.

If it can be done I always say stay home. If it's possible to work part time have your husband watch him a couple nights a week or so while you work it can make the world of difference. I plan to find something part time when my daughter gets older. Just do the math of what daycare will cost and what that would leave you with take home pay to contribute to bills. For me I would have been working for 500$ a month full time after paying for daycare with a bitchy micromanaging supervisor on my ass 5 days a week and it wasn't worth it to us. We've adjusted well and I don't regret it.

I went back to work lasted 2 weeks now I'm sahm full time 
And as to daycare handling it you will be suprised my guy loves a change of scenery and gets zonked quicker and goes down better they would cope (this is just experience of going to grandparents or people coming to visit or my sil watching him )

Thing I really miss is being around people, if you have some good friends or other moms to talk to them go for it and stay home! I've found that we actually save money with me being home, I'm able to keep track of the money and I have make meals at home and that saves a ton!

It's hard to say because what works for one family might not work for yours.
For us my partner stayed at home and I went back to work as I made more than him. I also own my own business on the side so I had that as well as my full time employment. After about 6 months I quit my full time employment and became a work at home mum so now I own my own time and I can do what I want when I want.
Sit down with your husband and discuss the options with him. 
If you are going to spend so much in child care fees then I would look at if it is really worth going back to work at all. Our child care fees are really high too so sometimes you just end up working to pay for child care and it's just pointless. Best wishes for whatever you choose :)
