Does it get better? Please help.

I love him but, the sex is bad. However, I am pretty sure it's me and not him. Before I met my boyfriend I was a virgin and compared to him I am really inexperienced. He says the sex is good and it will just keep getting better, but for me it's kinda actually boring. I don't know I had always built it up in my head and then was let down when it wasn't like that, or if I am feeling too guilty to fully enjoy the experience, or what is going on. Don't get me wrong, it feels great, but he has never made me orgasm and finding positions that work has been difficult. I am a good foot shorter than him. Does anyone have any tips or ideas of what to do?
