Is anyone else paranoid about the zika virus that causes birth defects on pregnant woman? i was reading about it and now i am all paranoid about it/: sigh* i live in California idk how high the risk is. I got a few weird bites but i suspect its just a bed bug bite (cause neighbors have some)but they turned weird looking and dry. After a week. Theyre itchy if i scrach..I have other small ones on my arms and stomach. My sister got bitten too.

Currently the mosquitos that carry zika arent in the US. If you go to the cdc.gov website theres a zika page. My husband travels to the carribean for work and my doctors are concerned he might expose me to the virus during my pregnancy esp since im only 6 weeks and hes going to be there on and off through out the year.

And the only way to get it without traveling to those places is to have sexual contact with someone who was exposed.

I live in Florida so I'm a little concerned,  but I'll be more concerned if there begin to be cases here of contracting it due to being bitten vs sexual contact. Our county had their first confirmed case this week.

Yep im paranoid as hell. We live near a river so we get heaps of mozzies so i spray myself with aeroguard.
