Flying whilst heavily pregnant?

So on my husbands 30th birthday weekend I'll be 30 weeks pregnant and he really wanted a weekend break away to Amsterdam just the two of us but thinks I can't fly as il be 30 weeks. Anyway the airline will let me fly up to 32 weeks with a doctors note which I've got and I've went ahead and booked it as a surprise 😬 I cannot wait to see his face ! Anyway I'm a bit nervous about flying whilst pregnant as I've never done that before. The flight is only 1hr15mins what's ur thoughts?

As long as the airline allows it and your doctor approves, you're fine. The only worry with flying while pregnant is that if you'd happen to go into labor and deliver the baby on the plane, they aren't trained and equipped to help you.

If your doctor said its fine, then it's fine - shorts flights like that are usually no problem no matter how far along you are. I had to go home for a funeral when I was 8 months and my flight was about the same time and my doctor said it would be fine but if we were delayed or stuck on the runway just to make sure I got up to walk around bc I shouldn't be sitting for that long (blood clots could form I believe was the reason)

I flew to New York from Louisiana at 29 weeks, I think. As long as your doctor approves you're okay.

If your doctor is ok with it then it should be fine. I wasn't able to fly myself due to high risk of going into labor early. Enjoy your trip I had to cancel mine 😭

I just went on a trip/flight this weekend and I was 29 weeks. I actually had to fly there by myself, which made me kind of nervous, but everything was fine. My flight was about  1 1/2 hrs too. I would suggest trying to sit in an aisle seat so you can easily go to the bathroom and stretch if needed. Other than that, just bring some extra snacks and water and wear some comfy clothes.

Not a problem especially if your doctor signed off already. I flew 5 1/2 hours at 34 and 35 weeks and I was just fine. Just get some compression socks and drink lots of water.

Thanks for the feedback. I just worry about everything and seeing this is a surprise trip I can't vent to my husband. Looking forwar to a wee night away before baby #3 comes along

Someone I know flew when she was 7 months pregnant, then lost her baby a week later. It's a mystery no one knows what happened. I hope it wasn't because of the flight. This other girl though flew when she was about 13 weeks though I think and she was fine. Just say a prayer before you get on the plane for you and baby.
