Prenatals while TTC?

My husband and I have been trying for the last two months and I started prenatals. However, my husband is military and we will be apart for the next 4 months. If I continue to take them, does it give us a better chance at conceiving when we are together again?

Probably not, but I just had a miscarriage and my  OB told me to keep taking my prenatals and folic acid so when we try again and do get pregnant the baby will be healthy. Most neural defects happen in the first 28 days of pregnancy.
