Bleeding

I'm 10 weeks 1 day and yesterday I had a gush of blood. Was quite a bit went to my gp who has booked me in for a scan Monday and told me to rest.  Today I just have brown spotting.  I saw the baby at 7 weeks 4 days on a scan and everything was ok then.  Haven't really been in pain except my right shoulder is hurting.  Any advice anybody. Any similar stories. I have got 3 grown up children no previous mc or pregnancy problems but this baby is with my new husband so treated as a first time mom.
