The down sydrome testing ?

My mom told me that they will be testing my baby if it is down syndrome some time but she doesnt remember when or what they do. Can anyone tell me the earliest you get it done and how they test you because hearing the rumour of a needle in the sromach from a friend scares the hell out of me!!! Im 8w 2d btway ♡

I did the panarama blood test at 10 weeks. Takes two weeks for results. Also get gender with it. :)

I'm having an integrated screen done. First round of blood work was at 8 weeks, second round and nuchal translucency screen (ultrasound) are at 12 week. The NT checks for additional fluid at the back of the baby's neck, which can be a sign of Down Syndrome. If there's any concern, my OB will recommend additional testing, up to an amnio if necessary.

My doc informed us they do the "Quad Screen" around 16 wks. It is our decision to get the test done or not. My doc, however, tests for DS, Edwards Syndrome, Spina Bifida, & Anencephaly (Quad-4 tests) with a blood draw. The needle (amniocentesis) isn't done as often as it used to.

They scheduled my CVS test and NT ultrasound for 12w4d but I'm turning down the CVS because it's invasive and I won't be getting an amniocentesis either

I had mine done at my 12 week scan, they measured the baby & checked the back of its head and a quick blood test :) that was all they only do needle in the yummy (amniocintesis) if your high risk of down syndrome when your other results come back

My doctor does it 11-14 weeks blood and ultra sound. I didn't do it it doesn't run in my family and young and healthy.

The testing isn't very accurate and the amnio is always optional. ☺ I'm on my 4th and have turned down many tests and procedures. I regret nothing. 😝
