How do you feel about bisexuality?

My mom recently found out (before i was ready to tell her, (which is a whole nother issue), that I am bisexual and she told me she just thinks I'm "confused" and that it means I'm okay with cheating on my partner. Neither of these things are true for me and I'm just wondering how many people do or don't believe what she is saying or just don't understand the idea of bisexuality.

I myself do not like labels. I have been in long term relationships with males and females...I am attracted to personality, not gender. I don't feel like attraction has everything to do with what body parts ur rockin, it has alot more to do with who u connect with. I've hear the same things "it's just a phase" "maybe ur confused" "so what team are u playing for now" and it's sad that people make this their business? Be with who u connect with and who makes u happy, male or female?

I don't understand why she thinks that being bisexual means you are cheating on your partner? I'm kinda confused by that. I don't see bisexual people any differently than I see straight, gay, pan, trans people etc.  You like what you like, you can't help that, there is NOTHING wrong with that and hopefully your mom can learn to accept it even if she doesn't completely understand it. Although I'm not sure what she doesn't understand... you like men and women, not that confusing.

To be honest, I don't really understand bi-sexuality or pansexuality BUT I expect people to mind their own business about who I sleep with, therefor I do the same, even if I don't truly understand it.

Ps. I would care if it wasn't between consenting persons though.

I think that is a common misconception. I'm under the impression that a lot of people see it as an "easy way" to be sleezy and sleep around. Shit you'll sleep with anyone right?

Not saying I believe this. I think if you're attracted to both men and women then cool! I have no qualms with it. 😊❤️

Bisexuality is real and does not mean you're okay with cheating on your partner. I went through the same thing you are going through. I told one of my sisters I was Bi when I was 14, and she ran around and told my other sisters and my best friend. My sisters made fun of me for liking girls and told my mom, who told my dad. My dad used to be very homophobic (he's a little better now) and he blew his top. Told me that I was disgusting and started calling me a lot of names. I lied and told him I was joking about it, and now none of family members talk about it. My husband knows and is okay with it.
