Does February count?

Does February count as a missed period for the month considering this month is short. I was suppose to start my period about 4 or 5 days ago. An I still haven't gotten my period. I'm scared to death of taking a pregnancy test because I'm scared of what the results will be. pregnancy test always seem to disappoint me. Should I wait until this month is completely over since we still have about a week left or test now? Thanks in advanced.
