Did you or would you have been able to drive yourself to the hospital during labor? My husband works 12 hour shifts and is only half hour away when at work, but he can't have his phone at work (department of corrections) and I'd have to call the lieutenant to let her know I'm in labor and to send him home. He only gets a few days off for the baby's birth and I don't want to not actually be in labor and have him show up at the hospital for us to be sent home. My plan was to drive myself (we aren't telling anyone until baby has arrived so having someone else drive isn't an option) to the hospital, which is only 15 minutes away from home. Once they confirm its the real deal then I'd call and have my husband sent. But is driving myself realistic?
