Faint lines (not intended nasty)

Why do people on polls select faint line even after a picture has been tweaked and it is very VERY clear it's a negative but people still give others hope and say faint line? Are people just TOO nice to say negative. They put it on here for an honest opinion not to be given a cuddled no. This sounds very nasty but I just don't like seeing people still getting others hopes up when it's clear there's nothing there its setting people up for heartbreak :/
