Sex determined by heartbeat?

Hello. This is my first pregnancy and I had a dr appointment today. I'm currently 16 weeks and will not get an ultrasound to determine the sex until next month. My baby's heartbeat was 140 today. The dr said that's more than likely a boy. How accurate is that? Just wondering!

That's not accurate at all. I'm a sonographer and I see baby boys with high heart rates and girls with low heart rates on a DAILY basis. 
If you look up real research on this method there have been multiple studies proving it's not accurate.
Of course it will be right with some people...the odds are 50/50!

I looked into this and all the research shows that there is no weight to this theory whatsoever I'm afraid

My little GIRL heartbeat is 145. Def don't rely on heart beat.

I'm having a boy and his heartbeat is 153 which suggests girl. 13/14 of the wives tales predicted girl but he is most certainly a boy

I'm having a boy and his hr is always in the 160s 😉.
