Phone addictions?

My husband is always on his phone. I know he's not up to anything bad, but he's always in Facebook, Instagram, 9gag, or playing some game. I've asked him before if I bore him, and that's why he's always on there, and of course he said no, and that he would work on it. A couple weeks pass, and he's back at it. If I ask him to put his phone down while we're out to eat, he gets all defensive. First thing in the morning, he's on Facebook. And I see him on there while I'm pretending to sleep, and as soon as he sees me awake, he decides to get up.

Other than that, he really is a wonderful husband. But I feel like he has a better relationship with his phone than he does with me. Am I overreacting? Any tips on how to make myself more fun to be around?

All I can tell you is your not alone. Our society as a whole is now walking around with their heads down and their faces stuck to their phones. It makes me really sad. I work at a restaurant and I see it every day all day. Couples come in to eat and barely speak a word to another 😞 I hate how technology has taken over..........

My guy was the same, always on his phone so I started to playfully put my hand over the screen or I'd say loud enough to get his attention "soooo what do you think? Should we or shouldn't we?" And imply that I've been talking to him and he just hasn't been listening then and he used to put down his phone or I'd send him a message whilst he was on his phone for more than 5 mins "great conversation we're having here". I'm English so sarcasm features greatly in my daily activities 😉 He eventually got the picture and although he is frequently on his phone still, it's a lot less than before. I must add that I still tease him about it and pretend to over exaggerate when he goes on it but he admits he was super addicted before and is getting better plus he also has his fair share to tease me about as neither of us is perfect x

I feel the EXACT same about my husband. He gets defensive and has been saying for months that he'll work on it. No change though

I have the same issue with my partner.. unfortunately this is now how society is and it's very sad! I'd we go out for food we have the no phone rule but at home he will it on it messaging friends or looking on Facebook. If I talk to him he ignores me as men cannot multitask! I constantly say "looks like your phone comes first before me" and he stops for a while.. let me know when you find the answer please!!

I feel like this is a really common issue. You need to talk to him again, tell him that it feels like he cares more about technology than being present when he is with you, and ask him to make and stick to some basic rules: no phone during meals unless it's an emergency call, no phone on dates unless it's an emergency, and to be super aware of when he is spending time around you but paying attention to it. You might even consider counseling.

My hubby is the exact same all day he's on his phone, he has two, ones a work phone so he has to answer emails and messages but he takes his phone to the loo and he's constantly on it talking to friends on Facebook and playing games, I never really worry about it that much though xx
