Increased Chance of SIDS

Sari • Married 7.5 years. Just had our first child, a baby girl on 4/20/16! 💗
Has anyone heard anything about an increased risk of SIDS if baby doesn't sleep in the same room with you in the first 3 months? I can't remember where I saw that. But I was just wondering if any of you had any thoughts or opinions on it?
I know I've spoken to some of you about it, but where do you plan to have baby sleep in the first few months?

i have a daybed in the babyroom so i can sleep in there with her Sunday thru thursday while she is on that 2-3 hour feeding schedule. My husband is not a joy to be around if he doesnt sleep well. since i will be breast feeding and staying home with her i feel it is the least i can do. On weekends she can sleep in her bassinet in our room just so he gets a taste of it and help out a bit!  also dont want to vacate my master bedroom completely! lol  😂😂😂 The one rule i am going to try to stick to is not allow her to sleep in our bed. i have heard it is really hard to break that habit.

Our daughter slept in her own crib in her own room from day one. She's almost 2.And NOW we can't get her out of our room 😜

I know that it supposedly decreases the chance of SIDS if the baby sleeps in the same room as you for the first few months, but I'm not sure why. I am on having the baby spend the night in the bedroom next to me (in the rock and play), and hopefully try to have the baby nap in his/her own room.
