Painful ovulation?

Can anyone else tell when they're ovulating? I remember in high school anatomy my teacher (a man) being like when females ovulate they can't even feel it or maybe just a pinch for one second. I laughed because I can always feel and I can tell which side. I have like bad lower abdominal pain on the left right now, really sore boobs, and a headache. This happens a lot I'll be like why does it hurt and then I'll look at this and be like ohhhh I'm ovulating. It's kinda like a constant pinching and pressure on my left side upwards of my hip.
