Do I hold her on my left or right?

This is a dumb question, I know... But I feel like I've been doing everything wrong. My daughter is 2 months old, and the back left side of her head is getting flat. She won't turn her head in the crib to lay on the other side no matter which direction we lay her. Part of the problem is that she always looks to her right side. It's not that she can't turn to the right (she has on occasion), but she really prefers to look to he left. When I hold her (as pictured), her had is turned to the left (when I would like her turned to right), but the pressure is OFF her flat spot. If I hold her on the other side,her face will be turned to the right as she needs, but the pressure is on the flat spot.
