does he like me?

hey! so i have liked this one boy for 3 years almost, and we became best friends and dated and broke up and went to prom, all in that order. then he said he didnt like me and gave me closure. lately, his friends have been telling me he always talks about me and finds me attractive and nice and he always smiles when he sees me and i catch him looking at me a lot. im not sure if he likes me, is just being friendly, or maybe doesnt know what he wants. i text him, but lately its been small talk. how can i fix that as well?
