Required to state relationship status?
Ok, so to set the situation. My husbands brothers birthday is coming up. Being a preteen he stated that he wanted a DJ and have a "real" party. I was searching local DJs on Facebook groups and such and came across a few who seemed to have the necessary qualities and experience we were looking for. I proceed to message them for quotes. 
With this man in particular I stated that his pricing was a little to high and that after speaking with a few people I would get back to him. Then the following occurred. I showed my husband and he then took over the conversation. It got nasty but it's not really relevant to the question I will be asking.
P.s. Please excuse my husbands misuse of language and grammar. English is not his first language.
So now to the question. Do you think that women should be required to state their relationship or marital status before starting a conversation with a male?
