Are toy going to put the father of your child on child support?

My mom think I should put mine on child support just so I'll be able to get food stamps and other government agencies that may to offered but I don't think it's a good idea I know he's going to be there financially and I also seen how much problems is caused between my mom and dad.

Answer

If he is going to be involved in the child's life and helping out, I would say no. Mainly cause if he is helping already and then your taking away from the check, it can hurt him and put him in a financial strain. But if he isn't helping, then yeah go ahead put him on, but if not, it's better to not. Just from personal experience.

Answer

You can always give him the chance and benefit of the doubt until he proves otherwise. If he doesn't come through the way that you are expecting you can go put him on child support then. Hopefully he steps up and does the right thing!
