What would you do, he is slacking

He is in school for dental assistant, he is on his externship, he has just been slacking so much, he hasn't gone the past four days, didn't even call. Today they called him he did he been sick and now they aren't letting him back, he needs to start over somewhere else. Or baby is 7 weeks. I want to go back to work but I need him to finish this program so he can watch baby in morning while I work. Should I get on his case more and tell him I'm dissapointed etc, or just let him do him and figure things out on my own instead of depending on him. We been together2 years but I feel like we are both grown I shouldn't have to tell him what he needs to do.... What would you do ??
