Boyfriend trouble...

Me and my boyfriend have been arguing over petty things which have lead into bigger arguments lately and I don't understand why. He seems to work things up in his head a lot. We're both studying out a levels and he boards at a different school about an hour away so all these arguments are over text. Can anyone think as to why we're arguing so much? It would really help
