14 dpo and still no period

Hi all, I had a D&C about 7 weeks ago. Doc said I should be expecting a period within 4-6 weeks and have no signs at all. I ovulated on March 2nd. I took a pregnancy test at 11 dpo which was negative. I want to take a test but not really sure if I should yet or if I should just wait another week to see if AF shows. Has anyone had an experience with a miscarriage where a period took a while to come after ovulation?
