Adoption troubles

My boyfriend and I are expecting our first baby. However, he is clearly not ready to have a child. He hadn't had a job for a few months so I was supporting him. Now that he has a job again he's going right back to how he used to be before he knew I was pregnant, spending all of his money on going out and drinking, not saving like I have been by working my butt off everyday.  I am just so over trying to convince him that this is real, and that he needs to take this seriously. You can't change someone who doesn't want to change. At this point if he doesn't make the conclusion on his own that a baby takes a lot of work and a lot of money, I just don't know how this is going to work. In a totally unresentful way, I have to say that I am strongly considering adoption. I am not in a financial place to have and raise a newborn without help. And I love it so much already that I want it to have a great life and that may just be with a couple that can give it a financially stable life. Any words of advice? I could use it.
