Fresh out of surgery
Such a terrifying thing, to have surgery while you're pregnant. January 14th is was diagnosed with gallstones and found out I am pregnant. I was early pregnant though so I had to wait a full 9 weeks before I was able to have surgery. I'm 13w 6d and I had my gallbladder removed on the 16th. Since this is such a common occurrence just thought I'd pop in and see if anyone else had issues with their gallbladder during pregnancy. I'm in a ton of pain from the surgery, they said it would only last a day or two, but it's been three days and I still feel like I'm dying. I'm keeping my pain med doses low, because I don't wanna drug my baby.... but the pain is so bad sometimes that I take one. I guess I shouldnt feel bad about it, the doctor said that letting myself be in pain for prolonged periods of time could be worse for the baby than taking the medicine. The surgery was my first and the fact that I'm pregnant made it more terrifying. I came out okay though. My baby is fine, I'm healing and I can eat again so things are looking up. I guess I just want to know if anyone else went through this and if so how you handled the surgery, and recovery.
