My experience of membrane sweep
I gave birth on my 39th week of pregnancy, that was last march 3, after my weekly check up my doctor suggested if i wanted to do membrane sweep cause she's already inside me checking for my dilation. She explained that membrane sweep helps me get into labor sooner if it works for me im going to have my baby within 24 hours after the sweep. I guess she suggested that because my babys head is really low and thats what i hear every time i have a check up since my 34th or 35th weeks of pregnancy and i keep having contractions on in off and even my pelvic bone hurts like they're gonna break apart. So i agreed about the membrane sweep. After my check up i went for a little walk on the beach after sometime i went to use the bathroom and i noticed a little blood discharge so i went home and rest. After 4 hours i started having contractions again but i thought it's just thesame ones im having the past weeks so i took some tylenol pm to put me to sleep. I woke up from a contraction and still im having little discharge when i went to the bathroom so i started timing my contractions. They're like 1to2 hours apart until at 7pm it's 20 to 30 minutes apart and at 10:30pm they start to get more intense and lasted 5to10 minutes until almost midnight they get closer to 4to6 minutes then i called the hospital at 2am and a nurse talked to me. She asked me if i want medication for the pain and i said no so she told me to call back after an hour cause she said it's too early to go the hospital and i dont want medication so i felt angry at her but i just agreed to call back.so my contraction starts to get closer 2to5 minutes apart so i called back after an hour and a half she asked me if i want to come in to the hospital and im happy i heard that from her i automatically told her yes then i woke up my partner to drive me to the hospital. We arrived at the hospital, about 4:20am and checked in then straight to delivery room they asked me if i want an epidural like 5 times but i really dont want any drug so i just started to cry when im almost close to pushing woooh.. And at 5:16 my baby margo was born 7lbs 20 inch.. This is my third time giving birth but my membrane sweep did a lot of labor pain i guess it's true that induced labor hurts more than normal labor.
