Bad back pain..heating pad??

Question

Having bad back pain wondering if anyone uses a heating pad for there back pain?? I do but not sure its safe google has mixed reviews guess i could call my doctor lol

It's totally safe. I asked my doctor. Don't sleep with it or anything, but an hour here and there is perfectly fine. The problem with heat is raising your overall internal core temperature. That can happen in a hot tub, but not a heating pad that is localized to just one area.

The heating pad has helped me at different times for different reasons all through pregnancy. I just try to not use it longer than like 20 minutes and on the lower settings when using it for cramping for hip pain (pain in the front). Perfectly fine for your back though! :)

I use a heating pad for my back almost nightly. I had to with my lady pregnancy as well and both doctors from each pregnancy said it is fine this far along! She said the only thing to watch out for is overheating. So most nights I end up laying naked under my fan with the pad on my back... Not that I think I would overheat I just get warm and am most comfy this way! She said 1st tri is when this could b unsafe

I use a hot water bottle and it is my best friend. So good for back pain. I tried an ice pack first, but the heat is so much better!
