Take provera even if I want to conceive?

I haven't had my period for like 5 months so my OB is putting me on provera to force a period. But should I take it even though I wanna conceive?

Personally i would not.. I declined provera when prescribed.. There are natural herbs that u can take to start your period. I am on vitex (chaste tree berry) it helped me start my period. Also black cohosh helps as well. My doctor then wanted to start me on clomid to help me ovulate bc i was not ovulating and my progesterone was very low. Yes. If you let the lining build too much, not only does it make for an inhospitable place for the egg but you can get cancer. When I got put on it my lining was 9mm thick. My obgyn said at 10mm they go looking for cancer and it wasn't a matter of if as much as when if I didn't shed it. 
It'll make your woumb a better place for baby. Just make sure your not preggers when you start. It'll be the heaviest af at least it was for me my first couple times taking provera. Wishing you lots of baby dust and that this makes a bfp easier!
